To recognize the outstanding writing achievement of high school students, this contest is open to students in grades 10-12 (15-18).
- Poetry: A group of three poems
- Fiction: A short story (1,500 words or fewer) or one-act play (run no more than 30 minutes of playing time)
- Nonfiction: A personal or academic essay (1,500 words or fewer)
There are monetary awards for the top three students in each category: $500, $250 and $125 respectively.
