Rachel Carson Intergenerational Sense of Wonder/Sense of Wild Contest
Awareness of why we need nature and why nature needs us can start at any age. Preparing your entry for this contest could possibly change your life. After all, part of the contest is that you have to write and work together with someone in a different generation to you - whether they are related to you or not. (Therefore you need a team of 2 or more people)

" Sense of Wonder Theme - having an appreciation for a positive, outdoor, nature-centred experience.
" Poem Category - The maximum length for a poem is 500 Words (or 2 pages)
o Essay Category - The maximum essay length is 500 Words (approximately 2 pages)
o Poem with Photograph Category - The maximum length for a poem is 500 Words (or 2 pages). Original photographs only; the photographer must be identified by name. Send your photograph electronically as a .jpg file, minimum 300 ppi, size: 100 %. Limit: one photograph per team.
o Essay with Photograph Category - The maximum essay length is 500 Words (approximately 2 pages). Original photographs only; the photographer must be identified by name. Send your photograph electronically as a .jpg file, minimum 300 ppi, size: 100 %. Limit: one photograph per team.
o Sense of Wonder/Sense of the Wild Theme - combines a Sense of Wonder experience with awareness of the benefits provided to us by wild plants and animals living in their natural habitats.

Winners will receive a certificate from RCLA. Their first names and ages (optional) along with the title of their winning entry will be posted on the RCLA website. A portion or all of the winning entry may be posted on the RCLA website.
